I obtained an auto insurance policy in August 2007. In January 2008 (five months after the policy was purchased) I received my policy renewal. The renewal price was substantially more than the initially policy cost because the insurance company had written my original policy with innacurrate information (assumptions they made that were incorrect, there was no falsification on my part). I cancelled the policy and found a new provider. The insurance company then sent me a bill retroactively charging me for the original policy with the new information and premium changes. Can they retroactively charge me for the policy that I had already paid in full based on our original agreement? Does the insurance company have any legal recourse or right to collect this money? I already filed an official complaint with the NJ Dept. of Banking and Insurance and am waiting to hear back. Im a 17 year old girl and i recently passed my driving test in the middle of October. I've bought myself a Corsa and found that the cheapest insurance is 1500. My mum is going to pay half of this aslong as i pay the other half, tax, mot and petrol which i think is completely reasonable. I can afford all this with money I get through college, but it leaves me with pretty much zero to spare. I've applied for about 30 jobs and have got either turned down or simply no answer back. This is for a marketing assignment. The business is a small gardening and cooking school for children. There are about 8 staff and activities should be pretty safe, since they're aimed at young people. The business is just starting out. What the instructions mention is: 1.property damage 2. public liability 3. vehicle 4. theft 5. personal disability 6. professional indemnity Kids hire their own bus to come here and staff ust use their own cars to go to and from work, so does the vehicle thing need to be included? The building is just a suburban rental property that costs us $400 rent each week. Also, this is just a minor part of the assignment, so a guess is fine. Thanks for any help!

Company Car - Insurance - Accident.?

Well, driving home last night from a club with my friends. Almost finished dropping my friends off we go through a puddle, me not knowing how high it really is so I assumed it was only little. Coming out of the puddle, the water was coming up-to the car bonnet (dashboard). So the engine and power, all cut out.. So we have to get out, and push the car to a higher ground. Obviously, the engine has flooded and after a few attempts of jump starting it, didn't work. So I had to ring the break down service to come pick us up. As this is my fathers car (company car), will I have to pay any excess? Considering that I am 19, will the cars insurance be valid? (Meaning, will I be able to drive it again?) Car: BMW 1 Series (118) Advice please?

I just went online and was quoted 8grand to get insured to my dads 1.9 tdi VW Bora, would it be cheaper to buy a cheap car for a grand which is a 1.2 petrol engine and get that insured or should i stick to my dads car which cost 8 grand to insure? which one would end up being cheaper for me?

No I haven't been previously insured, you gotta start sometime! im 20 trying to get a job and i need a car no accidents/tickets cancellations I'm even married! (dont know why that is a factor though) Live in Toronto best quote I get is like $730/month!!!! (this country is INSANE) charge the young person with the 24k/year job the most, and the old people with 65k+ next to nothing!! (INSANE) and thats without tickets. I get one ticket for a rolling stop, and my insurance becomes HALF MY SALARY Someone please tell me, what can I do to lower it as much as possible (besides getting a scooter -.-) Tell me the key things making it high (eg. under 25 yrs old and so on) advice is greatly appreciated before I go nuts.

Can someone explain this driver's insurance deal to me?

I don't have a license yet because I need to have proof of insurance to drive the car at the DMV. However, if my parents' cars are already registered to insurance, then I don't need to join their insurance or something and i can just drive their car right?
